Hey there folks! It turns out I don't have that much free time even now, but it's still better (I'm posting now right?) than university. Anyways I am not going to bore you today haha. It is Review Time!
Haven is a very interesting show, from SyFy channel, who in my experience do pretty good sci-fi (hard to guess right what shows they make right?) TV shows. Haven I think its in their top-notch series. It is a show, which you don't know what to expect. The story is just awesome, it's mysterious and really grabs you right from the start. Well, in the base of everything is a small town called Haven. But it's not just any ordinary town (duh...), it's actually anything but what you would call normall and ordinary. At given periods (called "the Troubles") everyone gain some special abilities/power/curse, bare with me, this has nothing to do with spiderman, superman or any of the other mans. At most of the times the people are not aware of their powers, or the powers just manifest themselves singlehandedly. In Haven everyone has their own problems, their deep secrets (but not like who slept with who).
A bit about the characters (I am trying to keep the reviews as much spoiler-free as possible). We have the FBI agent Audrey Parker, who comes in Haven's first episode on a assignment to solve a murder of a ex-com. Meanwhile, she finds a photo of a woman that looks remarkably like her, so she concludes it should be her mother, who she has never seen. From there she decides to stay in the small town, and with time she comes to realise it's not the ordinary small town. She gets to know Nathan Wuornos who is a police officer, and also a "troubled" person. Together they help out all kind of (troubled) people, and try to get some answers. As it is said though, some answers raise more questions than they answered. Mystery after mystery, lots of weird, interesting, different, opposing, etc. characters. Side stories that unite, really good stuff.
To sum up, if I have to describe Haven with one word (and excuse me for the vulgarity) it will be mindfuck! You think you know what is going on, you are almost guessing what will happen and then suddenly, the show suprises you in every possible way. If you are at least a bit into fantasy, this is a must, even if you are not, the sci-fi part doesn't at all ruin any of the other action, it's not Star Wars haha! Also if you liked Warehouse 13 or Eureka (again by Sy-Fy) there is a good chance you will like this as well. Lol this review became larger than i thought, I am stopping here, I hope I helped someone with this. Peace guys, I'm out.

The creepy. The demented. The unexplained. The unearthly.
Well I got a bit of a break off university, so I thought I should write something. The problem is I really don't know which show to review this time, a lot of great ones have started with new seasons just now - Supernatural, Fringe, The Vampire Diaries, Two and a Half Men, others are continuing, I mean how to choose one... Well The Vampire Diaries I know there will be a lot of people disliking cause of the "vampire hype", Fringe is so puzzling that I think I will have to watch all seasons again to write something. Two and a Half Men I think all of you have watched. This is it, today our theme shall be Supernatural.
When I started watching it, Supernatural already had five seasons, at the beginning I didn't like it very much, but a lot of people were saying it's awesome so I continued to watch. The start (first couple of seasons) are kind of slow, though the story is still there and really very good, it is mostly episode-to-episode action which kind of irritated me. But once it picks up, you can't stop, you want to watch more and more. The monsters are always made great, with lore and stuff, the special effects are outstanding, the way the characters are evolving, oh my... You really get into the show, you almost feel as if you are a "hunter".
In the beginning everything is pretty simple - two brothers - Dean, the bad guy, and Sam - the guy who left the family "bussiness" for school, they don't like each other a lot, have a lot of grunts. But they unite in order to find their missing father. With the progression of the series they become best friends, Sam flings to the dark side from time to time and... I won't say no more, I hate spoilers...
Demons, angles, wendigos, strigas, djins, shapeshifters, arachne, banshee, hellhounds, demi-gods - this is just a small, and I mean a small part of what you will encounter and see in this series. If you like this supernatural stuff - watch it! If don't know if you like supernatural creaturs - watch it! There will be blood, gore and death! Peace guys, I'm out!

Sam Winchester: Lollipops and candycanes.

Leverage
Good day people. I've been wondering what show to check out next, and my finger today stopped at Leverage. Leverage is a 40minute show broadcasted on TNT, at the moment the 4th season is ongoing.
This show is different, it is episode-to-episode action 99% of the time there isn't connection between the episodes (apart the actors of course). The background plot is little to non-existent and is developing slower than the creation of a new galaxy. Well then, you might ask, why should I watch it? It's simple, Leverage is a modern version of Robin Hood, instead of a forest we have the city, but we still have the rich "villains" who are stepping all over the normal hard working people. Here come the team to bring them down, and correct any injustice they get to know.
The Robin Hood team consists of five people - Nathan Ford a former insurance agency investigator, he is now the brain of the team, the mastermind, Sophie Devereaux a brilliant grifter, Eliot Spencer who is the hitter, the muscle, he also has a great knowledge of the different (ex)agents, goons and so on, Parker is the thief, a very weird, asocial character, and last but not least is our computer specialist, hacker - Alec Hardison. All of them is supposedly the best in their area, before they worked together they were loners (as most criminals anyways), and in the beginning they will have trouble working in a team, but soon they become the best as a team as well.
The series looks like "The A-team" meets "Mission Impossible" meets "Ocean's 11", it is brilliant. We have fast-paced action, robberies, cons, hi-tech stuff, almost no drama in the main plot (as its near non-existent), great acting by everyone and awesome development of characters, I especially like our mastermind, who has a ton of problems and personal issues as well which at times fuel his fury. There is also a touch of comedy, fun, in almost every episode. Well this is it people, another show worth giving it a shot. Peace, I'm out.

Alec Hardison: How did you know?
Eliot Spencer: You have a tell.
Alec Hardison: I have a tell? In Rock-Paper-Scissors, I have a tell?

Dexter
Dexter. Hm. Dexter is something new, he is a breath of fresh air for those that have gone sick from the other series. Dexter is both a villain and a hero (depending on the view point). It is a unique show.
Let's see what it is about. Dexter is a guy working in Miami PD, forensics expert, blood specialist. But he is no ordinary lab rat. He has a deep, dark secret... And this is the great part, I mean how many shows do we have where the main character is a serial killer? Dexter has problems, he has the need to kill, since his mother was killed in front of him when he was just a baby. So far we've got the villain part, but how can a killer he be a hero as well you ask. Well he is putting his "need" to use, by killing only, and strictly other criminals, killers. Dexter is like a modern day Superman or Spiderman, he is getting rid of all the scum from our society and that's what makes him a hero really. Where the authorities (the police) have failed he comes by to repair their mistake. During the show some people realise what he is doing and try to join him in his "crusade" but so far almost all of them wind up dead.
A bit about his personality. Well what can I say except he doesn't feel. He doesn't have feelings like you and me, compassion, even love (though this will change). This is maybe what makes him the psycho he is, I don't know if normal person will be able to sleep at rest, knowing what he had done. Dexter lives 2 lives, a bit like Walter White (Breaking Bad), but he plays his role as a normal person better, he manages to fool everyone so far. And this, I think, is because of his lack of normal feelings, his different thinking process.
OK, Dexter is a serial killer, you would ask now how doesn't he get caught, this is setted up you'd say. Well no. After the little Dexter was found on his mother's crimescene he is adopted by one of the cops. When growing up Harry (the cop) realises that Dexter is not like other kids, he is not "normal". So, long story short, he learns him a code by which to live, stay safe and the most important, never kill other man than a killer.
Great! So far so good. For some of the people maybe the latter seasons get a bit repetitive - Dexter gets in trouble, and a really tight escape. Well I tend to overlook that a bit, cause the general idea, plot, storyline is genious, it has gotten me stuck in front of the monitor for days. It is pretty realistic to some extend. Well this is it, I can't write no more without revealing big spoilers for the show. Peace, I'm out.

Dexter Morgan: [voiceover] People fake a lot of human interactions, but I feel like I fake them all, and I fake them very well. That's my burden, I guess.
Dexter Morgan: [as victim averts his eyes from dead bodies] Look! Or I will cut your eyelids right off your face
