Haven - It takes a village to hide a secret.

Hey there folks! It turns out I don't have that much free time even now, but it's still better (I'm posting now right?) than university. Anyways I am not going to bore you today haha. It is Review Time!
Haven is a very interesting show, from SyFy channel, who in my experience do pretty good sci-fi (hard to guess right what shows they make right?) TV shows. Haven I think its in their top-notch series. It is a show, which you don't know what to expect. The story is just awesome, it's mysterious and really grabs you right from the start. Well, in the base of everything is a small town called Haven. But it's not just any ordinary town (duh...), it's actually anything but what you would call normall and ordinary. At given periods (called "the Troubles") everyone gain some special abilities/power/curse, bare with me, this has nothing to do with spiderman, superman or any of the other mans. At most of the times the people are not aware of their powers, or the powers just manifest themselves singlehandedly. In Haven everyone has their own problems, their deep secrets (but not like who slept with who).
A bit about the characters (I am trying to keep the reviews as much spoiler-free as possible). We have the FBI agent Audrey Parker, who comes in Haven's first episode on a assignment to solve a murder of a ex-com. Meanwhile, she finds a photo of a woman that looks remarkably like her, so she concludes it should be her mother, who she has never seen. From there she decides to stay in the small town, and with time she comes to realise it's not the ordinary small town. She gets to know Nathan Wuornos who is a police officer, and also a "troubled" person. Together they help out all kind of (troubled) people, and try to get some answers. As it is said though, some answers raise more questions than they answered. Mystery after mystery, lots of weird, interesting, different, opposing, etc. characters. Side stories that unite, really good stuff.
To sum up, if I have to describe Haven with one word (and excuse me for the vulgarity) it will be mindfuck! You think you know what is going on, you are almost guessing what will happen and then suddenly, the show suprises you in every possible way. If you are at least a bit into fantasy, this is a must, even if you are not, the sci-fi part doesn't at all ruin any of the other action, it's not Star Wars haha! Also if you liked Warehouse 13 or Eureka (again by Sy-Fy) there is a good chance you will like this as well. Lol this review became larger than i thought, I am stopping here, I hope I helped someone with this. Peace guys, I'm out.

The creepy. The demented. The unexplained. The unearthly.

Well I got a bit of a break off university, so I thought I should write something. The problem is I really don't know which show to review this time, a lot of great ones have started with new seasons just now - Supernatural, Fringe, The Vampire Diaries, Two and a Half Men, others are continuing, I mean how to choose one... Well The Vampire Diaries I know there will be a lot of people disliking cause of the "vampire hype", Fringe is so puzzling that I think I will have to watch all seasons again to write something. Two and a Half Men I think all of you have watched. This is it, today our theme shall be Supernatural.
When I started watching it, Supernatural already had five seasons, at the beginning I didn't like it very much, but a lot of people were saying it's awesome so I continued to watch. The start (first couple of seasons) are kind of slow, though the story is still there and really very good, it is mostly episode-to-episode action which kind of irritated me. But once it picks up, you can't stop, you want to watch more and more. The monsters are always made great, with lore and stuff, the special effects are outstanding, the way the characters are evolving, oh my... You really get into the show, you almost feel as if you are a "hunter".
In the beginning everything is pretty simple - two brothers - Dean, the bad guy, and Sam - the guy who left the family "bussiness" for school, they don't like each other a lot, have a lot of grunts. But they unite in order to find their missing father. With the progression of the series they become best friends, Sam flings to the dark side from time to time and... I won't say no more, I hate spoilers...
Demons, angles, wendigos, strigas, djins, shapeshifters, arachne, banshee, hellhounds, demi-gods - this is just a small, and I mean a small part of what you will encounter and see in this series. If you like this supernatural stuff - watch it! If don't know if you like supernatural creaturs - watch it! There will be blood, gore and death! Peace guys, I'm out!

Sam Winchester: Why'd you let me fall asleep?
Dean Winchester: Because I am an awesome brother. What did you dream about?
Sam Winchester: Lollipops and candycanes.

Being Human

Well, I thought I should review a show not that famous today. My eyes stopped at Being Human.
First of all there are 2 versions of this series, the original one is British (BBC) and is up to season 3, this year should be releasing season 4. The second version is by the beloved SyFy, they basically bought the show from the British BBC, didn't even change the name nor the basic script and so far it has only 1 season. Today I will talk about the original UK version.
OK, the series are great, and I mean really, really the story is awesome. With the first episode we meet with a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost. And all of them living in the same house! Wow, it's already gotten interesting! We don't have many shows where supernatural creatures (beings, people) live together. The vampire is giving his best to not kill people (not successfully), the werewolf is a big mess, he's trying to forget what he is, to bury the wolf, and the ghost... well the ghost can only be seen by supernatural beings, so she really likes them and thinks she has some unfinished business on the Earth.
Really, if you are into supernatural kind of stuff, you will like this TV show. It has got everything you need - action, drama, a bit of a romance here and there (not enough to spoil anything). Mitchell (the vampire, who I think is the most interesting character) has some problems with the hidden society of fellow (not so much) vampires. He was best friends with the "head vampire", but now that he has gone sober and good he has separeted himself. Well... it doesn't go really well for him, he goes berserk from time to time, lingering from chaotic evil to lawful good, (yes, it is a D&D reference) which is really great because I wouln't watch a show with 3 different types of supernatural beings and no blood in it.With time (and seasons) we realise that there are as well other ghosts and other werewolfs.
So a bit about the other characters. The ghost (which I don't really like) is kind of depressed but she is good. She can't touch stuff, can't exit the house and is invisible to normal people, though this will change several times in the series. Anine (the name of the ghost) is messed up big time, she is weird and at the beginning even the other characters will see her as irritating. She has big emotional baggage, and generally that's why I don't like her, but hey, the show wouldn't be the same.
The werewolf (George) is a bit socially awkward (make that a bit more), and has his own problems. He changes, transforms to a werewolf once in the month in the full moon, the rest of the time he is normal-ish person. During that full moon he is making everything possible to not harm anyone (or possibly infect someone with the werewolf "disease") but that isn't so sucessful as well.
So Being Human, another series with which you will have a great time in front of the monitor/TV. Also as I see that some of you have the problem from where to get the show to watch it - you can find this (and I think almost every show) in the mighty Pirate Bay. Peace, I'm out.
George trying on another shirt: Well?
Mitchell: This, ah, non-date. You gonna break it to her you cross-dress?
